On Dec. 22, 2020, the Enlarged Council Meeting of International University Consortium for Agricultural Engineering was held in Jiangsu University (JSU). The meeting was organized by International University Consortium for Agricultural Engineering (IUCAE) and held by JSU. More than 50 experts from 22 member universities in 10 countries and regions attended the meeting online and offline. The meeting was host by Prof. Zhao Yutao, Vice President of JSU.

At the meeting, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of JSU, made a report to review the work of IUCAE on behalf of the Chair. Since its establishment on April 29, 2019, IUCAE has played its due role and honored its commitments by carrying out joint research, academic exchanges and talent cultivation in the fields of basic frontiers of agricultural engineering and the key technologies of smart agricultural equipment. Prof. Yan Xiaohong proposed that IUCAE should further promote bilateral or multilateral joint scientific research among member universities through regular academic forums, joint application for various funded key projects in various countries, and forming cooperative scientific research teams, build such platforms as joint laboratories, research centers, and university-industry-research cooperation platforms, and the international agricultural engineering think tank, deepen talent cultivation through developing high-quality online courses, compiling teaching materials, holding international intelligent equipment competitions, and exploring new models of talent cultivation.

Prof. Sergey Vdovin, President of National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University, Russia, Prof. Charles A. Igwe, President of University of Nigeria, Nigeria, and Prof. Daniel Palme, Vice President of Northern Arizona University, USA, delivered speeches respectively.

The meeting was convened to discuss the working plan of IUCAE, in order to strengthen the academic exchanges and cooperation between member universities, and enhance their academic edge and international stature in the field of agricultural engineering. The meeting unanimously approved that the 2021 Annual Meeting and the 2nd Sino-foreign Presidents Forum will be held in Zhenjiang, China in Oct. 2021 by Jiangsu University.
